Alek Petuk’s seminar on the game Dark Souls

Дата:
November 8 — December 3
Объем:
4 minutes

The main goal of the seminar is to transform gaming practice, which is casually believed to be a nonimportant recreational activity, into a training ground for the production of knowledge and social and cultural studies.

Dark Souls is an action role-playing game created by the Japanese company FromSoftware. Released in 2011, it has become an important cultural phenomenon and the basis for so-called soulslike games distinguished by a high level of difficulty, dark fantasy themes, and an emphasis on environmental storytelling.

The player is spawned amid a conflict between very different forces: immortal dragons, new and old gods, ancient serpents, and heroic knights. In this strange war, the player aims to restore and correct the order of things.

The seminar is part of the World Gone By computer class program.
